Jana is the absolute best! I look forward to every appointment at 1890 with her and she is absolutely the most amazing stylist I’ve ever had. She’s cut my hair long, medium, short and everything in between and the results are always fantastic. Her attention to detail is spot on and her ability to not just execute the immediate haircut but also put a plan together to get you to your desired hairstyle makes her a master of her craft. She’s talented and personable, not only does my hair look great when I leave but I’m always in a better mood after sharing some wonderful conversation. Almost forgot to mention I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my beard. Could not recommend her enough.
I’ve been getting haircuts at 1890s for nearly two years now and my experience has always been very positive! All the stylists I’ve had were great at listening to my request, they took time to understand what kind of cut I wanted and checked to make sure I was happy with the results afterwards. The atmosphere here is also very relaxed and friendly. The services here are also consistent and professional, I’ve rarely had to switch a time or stylist after making an appointment. Tina is an excellent technician and has been cutting my hair every 3 weeks for over two years. She’s very detail oriented and I always leave with a great cut. I’ll continue booking with Tina and would recommend anyone to do the same!
You have to get your haircut by Jana! She is absolutely no doubt, the best. Just got my haircut. I met Jana a little under a year ago after moving to GR in search of a place to get a good haircut. I found her shortly after a quick search and haven't looked back, and I couldn't recommend her more. I always look forward to my haircut with her. Jana is not only very skilled, but she is very personable - and I enjoy talking to her while she cuts away. I especially appreciate her attention to detail. Before my wedding this past July - she revised my haircut in one sitting multiple times because she wanted me to look my best. She did a great job. I got many compliments during the big day. The cool thing? - she continues to do that EVERY time I am in the shop. I was thrilled again tonight with how she did. Look her up!
Visiting Grand Rapids for work and needed a haircut. Booking online was quick and easy. The barbershop was very unique and set up like a traditional barbershop. Absolutely love the leg lamp displayed in the window. Jana was a pleasure to work with. She did a great job on my hair and eyebrows. I highly recommend this place.
Had a great experience This was my first time and now I’m set up for my second. It is an experience not a super cuts or something. So every thing is reasonably prices when you take that into account.
Ive been going here for about 2 years, and have had Aubrey cutting my hair for about the last year of it. Today, I brought in my son (4yr old who has never had his hair cut). She did an absolutely great job. Even more impressive is that she did it in spite of his near-nonexistent ability to hold still for any significant amount of time. Very happy and will recommend to others.
Needed an emergency cut last minute and they were able to get me right in! Great atmosphere, great cut, high prices... But worth it considering I had no other choice! Will definitely use them again if my normal girl isn't able to get me in!
